i remember i was little girl hearing make fun of me also but
i ingore them so then i was 13 year old my grandmother took
me to oral texas christian universaty then i learn talk and
sign language both but i am profound deaf fully anyway then
i attend to hearing school public also have deaf class and
hearing class both also have interrpeter for hearing class
i remember many things happen to me some hearing cruel on
me i walk off and ingore that so then i got job work
hospital oklahoma centerr university i has been work for 5
years housekeeper therre is no interpeter but write note
and also have special pager communicate where must to go
clean operation room and cath lab and patients rooms it was
rough time work two ladies were talk too much not doing good
job so i was hurry faster work rush hour i notice hearing
talk bad things about me but i dont care about it what they
thinks that hearing problem so and i did insult one time to
hearing guy i told him i know what to do work on jobs so not
have time to talk so i make good pay every two weeks

when my hearing sister or my mom and i went to
the store and we talked with signs. some kids or some
people were stareing at me and my sister or my mom yelled
at them stop looking at deaf lady. they got away. it
bothered me that some people looked at me. my mom did not
like anyone look at me because i am deaf. i irgone them and
i am tough.

There are rude people in all walks of life. Hearing or deaf,
doesn't matter. People stare at me because I have lots hair
missing on left side of my head. Sometimes, I can comb other
hair over, sometimes not. Most hearing people that I talk to
tell me they stare because ASL is such a beautiful language
or they're amazed how fast deaf people can sign. Be proud of
who God made you.
